We collect your name, email address, and profile photo through Google Sign-In when you create your NOViQ account.

Educational Data

We collect your grade level, gender, preferred language, and subjects you enroll in to provide personalized learning experiences.

Usage Data

We track classes generated, exams taken, quiz scores, daily activity patterns, and streak data to monitor your learning progress and provide personalized recommendations.

Device Information

We collect device type, operating system, and app version to ensure compatibility and improve performance.

Payment Information

We collect your subscription tier information. Payment processing is handled securely through Chapa, and we do not store your credit card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide personalized AI-generated study content aligned with the Ethiopian curriculum
To track your academic progress and generate weak area analysis
To calculate daily streaks and leaderboard rankings for motivation
To manage your subscription and enforce usage limits
To improve our platform and fix technical issues
To send important service notifications (we do not send marketing without your consent)

4. AI-Generated Content

NOViQ uses advanced AI models to generate personalized educational content. Your grade level, subject, and section data are sent to our AI processing partners to generate relevant learning materials. We do not send your name, email, or personally identifiable information to AI services. Data is processed in accordance with industry-standard privacy and security standards.

5. Google Sign-In

We use Google OAuth 2.0 for authentication. We receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google when you sign in. We do not receive your Google password. Your use of Google Sign-In is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We share data only with the following service providers:

Chapa: For payment processing
Google: For authentication

We may disclose data if required by Ethiopian law or legal process.

School administrators may view aggregate (non-personal) usage statistics for their enrolled students.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Usage logs are retained for up to 12 months for platform improvement and security purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

NOViQ serves secondary school students. We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide educational services. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the required legal age in the jurisdictions we operate. Parents or guardians may contact us to review or delete their child's data.

All data is transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption
Passwords are never stored — we use Google OAuth for authentication
JWT tokens are used for session management and expire automatically
Our servers are located in secure data centers with industry-standard security measures
